Recovery Support Benefit
Returning to work after extended sickness or injury can be tough both emotionally and financially. It’s hard enough getting back into a work routine, let alone managing your finances when you may not get paid for a while after your claim has ended. For this reason, we’ve added a discretionary Recovery Support Benefit for all insured members which provides claimants with a cash lump sum when they return to work following a claim. This way, you can return to work motivated and less worried about how you’re going to pay the bills until you get paid.
For more information, download our Recovery Support Benefit FAQs or Mutual Benefits Brochure which includes details about all our discretionary benefits.
The death of a loved one can have an overwhelming effect on a person’s physical and mental wellbeing. It’s easy to forget how much impact it could have on your finances, especially if you need to take time off to grieve.
Our discretionary Bereavement Benefit provides you with valuable financial support if you lose a partner/spouse or child. This benefit could be used to supplement funeral costs, grief counselling or living expenses while you take the time you need to recover from your loss.
For more information, download our Bereavement Benefit FAQs or Mutual Benefits Brochure which includes details about all our discretionary benefits.
Care Assistance Benefit
Care Assistance Benefit is a discretionary benefit which provides additional financial support to both new and existing insured members if their working patterns are disrupted because their parent, partner, spouse or child (up to age 18) suffers from a serious illness or accident and needs full-time care for at least four weeks.
This benefit is designed to cover illnesses or accidents either your parent, partner, spouse or child experiences after the benefit was added to your policy.
For more information, download our Care Assistance Benefits FAQs or Mutual Benefits Brochure which includes details about all our discretionary benefits.
We are different from other insurers because we're a mutual and our members are at the heart of all we do. We are always looking at new ways of adding more value to our policies for the benefit of all our members. That's why we've introduced our death benefit to all new and existing insured members at no extra cost.
At British Friendly, we think it's important to find more ways to keep our members smiling, especially when the going gets tough.
Download a copy of our Death Benefit flyer for more information. We also recommend you download a nomination form to register the individuals who you wish to receive your Death Benefit in the event of your death.
