Community and Charity
As a mutual, we believe it’s important to give back and support organisations that make a real difference to individuals and families in the UK. This year we have chosen to support FACES, to raise money for families and children affected by domestic abuse and mental health issues in Bedfordshire and surrounding areas.
Charity of the Year 2020 - FACES
In 2020 we have chosen to sponsor FACES (Family and Children’s Early-help Services) an independent, local charity based in central Bedfordshire. The charity aims to provide practical and emotional help and support for families during difficult period in their lives including situations such as domestic abuse, help with family finances, depression and victim support. The charity recruits and trains volunteers to visit family homes offering informal and confidential support to help build a better future. This early intervention reduces the risk of neglect children, gives parents the support they need to get through difficulties or learn simple living skills most of us take for granted.

Charity of the Year 2019 - Road Victims Trust
In 2019 we chose to sponsor Road Victims Trust, a local charity that provides support for the bereaved and people otherwise affected by road death or life changing injuries. To help raise money for this very worthy cause our colleagues took part in a number of fundraising activities including bake sales, dress down Fridays and even taking to the skies in a sponsored skydive. As a result of these efforts the Society was able to raise a grand total of £7,353.35, which is a testament to the tireless fundraising activities of our colleagues.

From May 2016 until December 2017 we chose to sponsor Christopher's Smile, a small charity which funds research and treatment for children diagnosed with brain tumours. Through various initiatives and fundraising efforts we managed to raise over £4,000 for the charity in addition to helping them exceed their 'Big Give' donation target in December 2016.
